FROM THE EAST
Trestle board For June
Brothers, at our May meeting, we were served a spaghetti dinner by the Job’s Daughters of Bethel No. 8, and it was simply delightful. Don’t forget, the young ladies of Bethel No. 8 are having a Pancake Breakfast on June 14th from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM, and the cost is only $5 per person. Please come out and support our Job’s Daughters of Bethel No. 8.
Congratulations to our new Fellowcraft Masons, Brothers Cory Link, John Weaver, and Robert Sutton. On May 6th, SW Ed Burke, Jr., PM assumed the East and with the officers of our lodge, conferred an excellent Fellowcraft Degree on our three Entered Apprentices. SD Bill Sahm, Jr., did a fantastic job with the Stair Lecture, and all of the officers are to be commended on a job well done.
On May 16th, St. John’s Lodge No. 2 and Christiana Lodge No. 35 held a “Ladies At The Table” to recognize our ladies. The attendance was great, and our Secretary, PGM Glenn F. Davis, Sr., was our guest speaker of the evening. PGM Herbert J. Atkinson (WM) and the Brothers of St. John’s Lodge did an excellent job with the preparation for the evening and the choice of caterers.
Congratulations to all of our officers who have now completed the necessary proficiency for the upcoming year. A special congratulations to SD William J. Sahm, Jr., who has completed his proficiency for the station of Junior Warden, and for the station of Senior Warden . . . Brother Sahm is now eligible for nomination to the station of Senior Warden for the 2008 - 2009 Masonic Year.
Please remember all of our service men and women who are serving our country, who special thoughts for those Brothers from our lodge who serve: SFC Glenn F. (Buddy) Davis, US Army, who is serving in Bagdad, Iraq and is scheduled to return to the US in a few days, MSGT Ken Knox, US Army, who has been serving his fourth tour in Qatar, and is hopefully now back in the USA, and CSSN Mike Kirylik, US Navy, who is stationed aboard the USS Hawes FFG-53.
Fraternally,
Charles N. O'Neal
Worshipful Master
